Cedar Falls Police Lt. Branden Madsen received a leadership award for his service.
Police Chief Mark Howard awarded the recognition at a recent ceremony.
The commendation affirms the leadership Madsen showed during his duties while serving on second shift in 2024.
A member of the SWAT team, Madsen joined the department in 2017 and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in December of 2023. He is one of nine lieutenants in the police division.
Madsen is in charge of the department’s Community Service Officer program.
“He displays a calm demeanor which allows him to be an effective mentor to our young officers,” a press release on the occasion of the award said.
