Beginning as early as Monday, March 31, the City’s contractor, PCI, will continue the reconstruction of the Main Street Project at the intersection of East 18th Street and State Street. For the contractor to begin pavement removal, intermittent lane closures will be required. The lane closures will be in effect for approximately three weeks, depending on the weather.
The planned work for these closures includes removal of the existing pavement, followed by the new concrete pavement. During Phase 1, the westbound movement on East 18th Street will not be available, and any vehicles approaching the intersection from the east will have to turn either north or south onto State Street. Once Phase 1 is completed, Phase 2 will begin. During Phase 2, the westbound movement is restored, but eastbound movements on East 18th Street will not be available.
All business access will be maintained during these lane closures.
