GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The UNI women’s tennis team wrapped up its weekend of competition at the Choice Health & Fitness Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota with losses to Montana State and North Dakota. Sunday, the Panthers competed against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks and could not secure a victory in singles or doubles action, losing 7-0.
In Singles action, Darta Dalecka battled against Andrea Pineda, winning one set but ultimately falling in three, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. Kanyanut Sudsaard also went the distance against Aziza Aubin but came up short in a tightly contested match, 4-6, 7-6, 12-10. Lorena Cardoso pushed Jule Schulte to three sets but was unable to secure the win, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
Kim Zizek was defeated by Ethil Li by a score of 6-3 in both sets, while Andjela Raznatovic fell to Nore Heinitz in two sets, 6-4, 6-4. Lasya Mylavarapu was also unable to secure a victory, falling to Alyssa Giupponi in three sets by a score of, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles competition, seniors Dalecka and Cardoso battled in a tight match but fell just short, 7-6, against Aubin and Li. Zizek and Raznatovic also fought hard but narrowly lost their match to Heinitz and Schulte, 7-5. Meanwhile, Sudsaard and Mylavapu were defeated by Giupponi and Pineda, 6-1.

The Panthers return home for a weekend of competition at the Black Hawk Tennis Club to host St. Thomas on Friday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. CT and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. CT.
