Cedar Falls, IA – Cedar Falls Police would like to remind residents of the 48-hour parking ordinance. With the recent snowfall in the metro area, snowplows and salt trucks need to be able to remove snow in all public right-of-ways to help ensure safe travel throughout town.
Beginning Tuesday, February 18, at 7:00 a.m., officers will begin ticketing all vehicles in violation of the 48-hour ordinance. Any vehicle not moved within 24 hours after receiving a citation will be towed at the owner’s expense.
The City of Cedar Falls also reminds property owners and occupants to help keep the community safe by removing snow and ice from all public sidewalks adjacent to their property. Snow and ice are to be removed for the full width of all sidewalks within 48 hours of the end of the weather event.
Thank you for your assistance in helping to ensure safe travel for motorists and pedestrians throughout this winter season.
